The Doctor, River Song and Amy Pond - Doctor WhoDr Who and Ashes to Ashes

The New Doctor

So, we have the new doctor.  And I really like him. I do. I know a lot of my friends are not totally happy with him, but I like him, mostly because of how he relates to his new companion.  She is what really makes this season tick.  Most importantly, we like where the story appears to be heading.  Steven Moffat is the new producer and he wrote the BEST episodes of the previous 4 seasons.  So, double plus good.

Ok – so for the big question.  Obviously River Song is going to play a big role in the upcoming drama.  Which is good.  We just found out that she killed someone very important.  A very good man we are told.  This happened in her past but in the Doctor’s future.  So…. who is this very important man?  This very good important man?  Is it the Doctor? At first I was thinking yes, but now, I am thinking it might be Captain Jack.

Here’s why.  Obviously, the fact she had killed someone happened before we first met her which is when she died. And it just didn’t come up. She trusts him completely.  Also, he regenerates, so what fun would it is in killing him.  The real thing is that the bishop didn’t know if the Doctor could be trusted.  If she was in jail for killing someone really important that everyone knew to be a good man, then the bishop would have know who the Doctor was.  So, probably not him, could be, but I doubt it.

I think it is going to be Captain Jack.  And yes, he regenerates too. But he is the type to allow himself to be killed that others might live, because, well, he is going to live anyway. That makes him a good man and someone everyone would know as very important.  Also, we know that at some point he has to become the face of Bo. And River Song could be the gal that does that to him. And the benefit of it being Capt Jack is, let’s face it, if Capt Jack does not play into this story line, ALL of us are going to be VERY disappointed. So, to speculate, I think the very important man she kills is Capt Jack. But I could be wrong.

Gene Hunt and whatever her name is - Ashes to AshesSo…. Ashes to Ashes – Season 2 – Finally!

It has only been 2 years since we got to see season one.  It’s not like they took their time getting this over to America. Anyway, we finally get it.  And it is sooooo nice to see Gene Hunt again!  Nuff said.
