Humanist Thought of the Week: 5 6 2008
It seems that my most popular podcasts are the ones where I talk about things like suicide, anger management and other rather unpleasant topics.
Your preferences have been a real eye opener for me, and a little disappointing.
As a happy human I would prefer to talk about things that inspire or make me happy.
Happy humans think happy thoughts.
But, because I am a Humanist, I am also a realist.
That means that I must be willing to adjust to the reality of the situation I find myself in if I am to be successful.
Which gets me to the point of the day.
I understand that many people really are suffering and are seeking a way to help get to a better place.
As someone who has found happiness through Humanism, I have an obligation to help, so I will be talking about more difficult subjects more often.
Don’t let disappointment stop you from doing what is right or what is needed.
The world will be a better place, and so will you.
