Concerns as President
The following are answers to questions about my political interests should I be president (as taken from the American Candidate Questionaire). This was written in 2004
23. IF YOU COULD PASS ANY LAW AT THIS MOMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
This is a tie: I would join the International Criminal Court and pass legislation that properly and fully funds our obligations to our veterans. G. Washington was very clear that there were only a few things we needed to do to be successful as a country. 3 of these items involved making good on our commitments to our men (and now women) in uniform.
24. IF YOU COULD REPEAL ANY LAW AT THIS MOMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
A repeal of the Patriot Act and all the niggly little bits of Patriot Act II that they have inserted into various other bills as of late.
25. IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM, WHAT WOULD IT BE? Clean Elections. The oligarchs have too much power over our electoral system. Public financing of elections seems to be an interesting proposal for bringing down the oversized budgets that have become a staple of our system.
26. WHAT, IF ANY, ORGANIZATIONS ARE YOU OPPOSED TO AND WHY?
Religious Fundamentalists of any ilk. The Coalition on Revival scares the crap out of me. I am opposed to any group who seeks to replace our democracy with theocracy. I am also opposed to groups that seek to denigrate our freedoms for political gain.
